There has been a tremendous outpouring of grief in the wake of the shocking and sudden passing of music star, Goldie Harvey. Social media is awash with tributes from across Africa and internationally.
 
News filtering in indicates that Kenyan rapper and former BBA Stargame Housemate, Prezzo is airbone and en-route Nigeria. Prezzo met Goldie while they were both housemates and it appears that the sparks that flew in the house blossomed into romance on the outside.
 
He is one of the very many close friends and confidantes who will be hardest hit by her death. There are indications that Goldie and Prezzo were planning a collaboration which will, now, never happen. Rumours of a planned wedding have been quashed by Prezzo.


 
Denrele Edun is one of Goldie’s closest friends. The former model turned Channel O  VJ was among the few people allowed into the Reddington Hospital on Thursday 14 February when Goldie was rushed there. He has been very instrumental in Goldie’s career from his days as a VJ at Soundcity, and was very visible in her Skibobo Video.
 
Kenny Keke Ogungbe and Dayo D1 Adeneye are the owners of Goldie’s record label, Kennis Music. They were both with her at the Grammys, which they have attended annually alongside their star acts.
 
Goldie was the most popular act in the Kennis stable and she has always been chaperoned to events by Kenny Ogungbe. He was by her side on the night of her return party at a Victoria Island nite club, where Goldie appeared wearing bright blue police women's apparel.
 
Radio OAP Karen Igho was the joint winner of Big Brother Africa in 2011 and is a close pal of Goldie’s. Many believe the connection is through Denrele Edun who has been a mentor of sorts for both women.
 
Goldie will of course be sorely missed by her father, siblings, step mother, her staff , many celebrity friends like Waje and Mercy Johson plus fellow recording acts especially Eldee, Olu Maintain, Banky W and AY whom she has collaborated with as well as all her fans and radio and TV OAPS and VJs.
 
Meanwhile, speculation about the cause of her death is pointing to a pulmonary embolism, but none of this can be confirmed until an autopsy result has been provided.
