We are just hours away from the 13th annual Mzansi Magic Market Day formerly known as KTV Market Day. The excitement and anticipation is building with kids everywhere hurriedly putting the finishing touches to their products just in time to open shop at Mzansi Magic Market Day this Saturday, 1 September 2012 nationwide.

If it’s original and creative don’t pass-up the opportunity to support up-and-coming business and entertainment young moguls from all walks of life who have been wrapping up their handiwork and tightening up their performances for the big day.

Last year the national winner Alexander Patullo’s brilliantly recycled old vinyl records and coke bottles used in an ingenious way impressed the judges and won the top honours. As with every Mzansi Magic Market Day the judges will be searching for product ideas and performances that are original, creative and marketable.



M-Net CSI Manager, Palesa Xorile says that Market Day’s major objective is to empower children and to help develop creative skills for their future, by offering them an opportunity to sell products and services to the public.  “This presents them with an alternative solution to the exhausting search of the formal job market when they leave school, suggesting entrepreneurism as a viable avenue for employment and financial independence.”

Nedbank who has partnered with M-Net to bring the 13th annual Mzansi Magic Market Day, announced its Market Day Programme early this year, aimed at introducing money management principles to primary school learners. Nedbank is the first bank to undertake a comprehensive market day programme with a wide spread of registered schools across the country, providing over 23 000 learners with the fundamentals of growing a small business.

This year’s Mzansi Magic Market Day will also have special appearances from the Idols Top 6 finalists at Cresta Shopping Centre in Johannesburg. They will join the festivities of the day and show support for the young moguls and performers. The Idols finalists will also sign autographs for fans.
