Vodacom Blue Bulls
Blue Bulls in relegation scare
By

Vodacom Blue Bulls
are in danger of being relegated to the First Division from the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division for the first time in the club’s history.
The Currie Cup is coming to an end soon, and Pine Pienaar’s men are hanging by a thread - stranded in last place on the log over the past few weeks, and staring down the barrel of relegation.
However, there is still an incredible belief within the team that survival in the top flight is possible after overpowering the DHL Western Province 26-13 in Pretoria on Friday.
They still have their sights on making it into the Top 4, but they will have to beat the MTN Golden Lions in Johannesburg this weekend and hope other results go their way.
The weekend may well have an interesting twist in store for rugby fans - any one of the last three teams could either be in the semifinals, or end up playing in the dreaded promotion/relegation match.
The Pretoria-based Blue Bulls are one of the most well-known and best-performing clubs in the country, with the unique distinction of having played continuously in the highest tiers since the club's earliest incarnation as the Northern Transvaal Rugby Union in 1938.
The Blue Bulls have been one of the most successful teams in the competition with 15 Currie Cup titles under their belts - most recently winning the competition in 2009, beating the Free State Cheetahs 36-24 in the final at Loftus.
