Super Diski fans were delighted when the Absa Premiership returned to SuperSport screens on Tuesday night (12 February). Although the match between current log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs and a struggling Mamelodi Sundowns ended in a goalless draw, the return of the domestic league will continue to keep viewers tuned in.
Second-placed Orlando Pirates face a resilient SuperSport United outfit at the Orlando Stadium tonight (Wednesday, 13 February). The two clubs have different objectives ahead of the clash but neither of them can make defeat an option if they are to achieve their goals.
The Buccaneers are two points behind Amakhosi and a win would see them top the PSL table. Meanwhile, Matsatsantsa won the league on three consecutive occasions and will feel their ninth position belies their previous league glory.
On Saturday, title contenders and current third-placed side Platinum Stars will be banking on a victory against a wounded Ajax Cape Town. Having a disastrous season, the Cape side is currently in fourteenth position and desperate for a win.
With all teams aiming to bag the full three points in the league’s first week after the Afcon break, clubs that drop the ball do so at their own risk.
