There's a lot of excitement mounting again this afternoon, as speculation about rock band Red Hot Chilli Peppers coming to South Africa in 2013 mounts.

The celebrity gossip, according to Heat Magazine's Twitter handle, is that the band are expected to visit “Africa” next year.

"According to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith, they're coming to Africa in Feb 2013. Eek! Stoked?"

The band released their world tour dates earlier and when a local fan tweeted at Chad stating that it isn't a world tour if Africa isn't included, Smith responded with the following, "RT @sin_says_hi: It's not a world tour if you don't come to Africa. @RHCPchad @flea333 Just sayin'/ Ok then..Were comin in Feb!"

This follows the news of teen hearthrob Justin Bieber tweeting similar news last week. So if all goes according to plan, and of course the tweets, 2013 is shaping up to be a really good live music year for concertgoers. There is no official statement available at this point. If and when things change, we will let you know.
