Opening Act! on Saturday, 6 October at 20:00 on E! sees a team of music industry professionals search the internet for talented amateur singers, who could be the next Opening Act! for major performers such as Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.

The judging panel includes the talented Jason Derulo who, while promoting his first album (Jason Derulo), was the opening act on a leg of Lady Gaga’s The Monster Ball Tour; So You Think You Can Dance judge Nigel Lythgoe; nine-time Grammy-award-winner Mary J Blige; and songwriter Antonina Armato, who has penned songs for pop sensations Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens.

From little princesses Sofia and Grace to piano playing prodigy Gracen Chance, YouTube has served as a surefire vehicle for bringing fresh talent into the spotlight.

Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco, better known by her stage name, Charice, also rose to fame through YouTube and has performed with Celine Dion and NeYo. She released her first solo album, Charice, in 2010.

Fifteen-year-old Greyson Chance sang Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi at a sixth grade talent contest. His video got over 48 million hits on YouTube and he was later invited to The Ellen Degeneres Show, where he got to meet Lady Gaga herself. Chance is the first artist to have been signed by Ellen’s recording label eleveneleven.

Bright and bubbly eight-year-old Sophia Grace Brownlee had a video of herself and her cousin Rosie Grace McClelland singing a rendition of Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass posted on YouTube. The video went viral with over 38-million views, and the two young girls became the talk of the town. On an episode of Ellen, Nicki herself was awestruck at the littlies immense talent.

And last but not least, Justin Bieber. He stepped into the limelight at the age of 14 after being discovered on YouTube by talent manager Scooter Braun. Love him or hate him, you've got to admit that he literally went from the sidewalk to stardom after signing recording contracts with Usher and LA Reid. Bieber has a growing global fan base with over 27-million followers on Twitter. In 2012 he was named by Forbes Magazine as the third most powerful celebrity in the world. (source: wikipedia)
