DStv-i VIEWING PANEL
DStv has developed a DStv-i Viewing Panel. This customer research panel, which is the first return path panel audience measurement system in Africa, will allow us to deliver improved audience measurement for DStv and also provide MultiChoice with increased insights into the viewing patterns of their customers.
TNS Research Surveys, SA's most respected, independent consumer knowledge and Information Company, have been commissioned to both recruit and manage the DStv-i Viewing Panel which will be rolled out to approximately 4,000 DStv households.
Important to note, is that you cannot volunteer to be part of this research, rather, TNS Research Surveys will be recruiting customers based on strict criteria.
Once customers have agreed to be a member of the DStv-i Viewing Panel, we arrange for the installation of a new 1110 decoder* and a modem in their home. The modem does not require a fixed line and all installations are done by MultiChoice Accredited Installers.
The decoder tracks the channels it is tuned to, stores this information and submits this data to us via the modem on a daily basis. This information is then collated for all DStv-i Viewing Panel households and used to produce detailed viewing reports. At this point, it is important to emphasize that personal or individual household viewing patterns will never be published, nor will personal information be released.
